But this week marks a very special milestone. ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, the film that made every heart skip a beat in 1998, has turned 27. And fans, along with the stars themselves, are joining in the celebration with pure nostalgia and love.

Actress Kajol, who charmed audiences as the spunky Anjali, took to Instagram on Thursday to mark the occasion. She reshared a video from Dharma Productions that brought back some of the film’s most unforgettable moments.

From Kajol’s playful banter with Shah Rukh Khan to the tender emotions shared with Rani Mukerji and even the cameo from Salman Khan, the montage reminded everyone why this film is still so close to people’s hearts.

Karan Johar, who made his directorial debut with this blockbuster, also joined in the celebrations. Sharing behind-the-scenes snapshots on his social media, the filmmaker gave fans a peek into the magic that happened off-camera.

Candid moments with Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, and the rest of the cast including Farah Khan, Archana Puran Singh, and Anupam Kher were paired with the iconic tune “Tum Paas Aaye.”

The magic of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ lies not just in its story but in its timeless depiction of friendship and love. Produced by Yash Johar, the film traces a love triangle among college friends Rahul, Anjali, and Tina, and later follows Rahul’s young daughter as she tries to reunite her father with his former best friend.

Released on 16 October 1998, during the Diwali weekend, the film quickly became a massive hit. It went on to become the highest-grossing Hindi film in India that year and the third highest-grossing Indian film of its time.
